The CAN.HEAL project, funded by the European Union under the EU4Health Programme, has played an important role in connecting genomics for public health with personalised cancer care.
To support continued dissemination of its results, the consortium has published a comprehensive leaflet summarising CAN.HEAL’s objectives, structure, and key outcomes. The document provides an accessible overview of the project’s achievements and policy contributions between 2022 and 2025.
Among the highlights:
- Recommendations on genetic counselling and Polygenic Risk Scores (PRS);
- Frameworks for Molecular Tumor Boards, liquid biopsy and comprehensive genomic testing;
- Ethical and legal guidance for genomic data reuse in line with GDPR;
- Education and public awareness materials supporting capacity-building in oncogenomics.
The leaflet illustrates how CAN.HEAL contributed to Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan and the EU Cancer Mission by creating a bridge between scientific innovation and equitable implementation.
